The Young Eagles program was launched in 1992 by EAA the Experimental Aircraft Association, based in Oshkosh Wisconsin. The mission is to provide a meaningful flight experience - free of charge - in a general aviation aircraft for young people (primarily between the ages of 8 and 17).
Since the program's inception, more than 1.1 million Young Eagles have flown under the auspices of the program . . .
Harrison Ford is Chairman of the Young Eagles program and often gives Young Eagles flights himself piloting his own aircraft. Some kids get all the fun . . .
See Harrison Ford's bio for some interesting information.
Steve Wood is Young Eagles Coordinator for EAA Chapter 288 at Daytona Beach, FL and organizes flight events whenever he is at Spruce Creek Fly-in (7FL6), which is normally three times each year.
