This webpage features pictures of EAA Chapter at Columbus OH, and its Young Eagles flights . . .

EAA Chapter 9 participated in the National Young Eagles Day celebration. These photos were taken at that event. Our chapter is proud to have flown more than 2000 Young Eagles with support from pilots based here and at surrounding airports. We hold rallies six to eight times per year, ending with operation Ho! Ho! Ho! when disadvantaged youth are flown. We also arrange individual flights as needed. Our volunteers, both pilots and ground support persons, enjoy the activity and keep returning to help, saying that they like flying Young Eagles. It is especially pleasing to hear some say that their career in aviation started with a Young Eagles flight.
We are proud to be included on the "Four Corners" flight by pilot Steve Wood. Information on that project can be found at www.600fy.com.

We have an 8 page pilot briefing hand out. While some of material is unique to our airport it has material that is useful to other chapters. One example is the use of a special call sign used when carrying youth, YoungEagleXXX, where XXX are the last three characters of the tail number. Our riders wear headsets making this a special thing for them, and it lets the tower know our intentions. There are 2 pages of suggestions for a more meaningful ride taken from our pilots and others. We've sent a copy of these to Young Eagles HQ to share with other chapters.
